The Aliens are Coming

akf.jpg

Remember when motion graphics were fun? Remember when it was just you and a couple of friends screaming and playing your music and somehow making amazing spots in spite of short deadlines and small budgets. A few ambitious kids in New York are keeping that spirit alive under the name “Alien Kung Fu”.

The main site is still coming but in the meantime chew on these promos for Spike influenced by Peter Max; make sure to check out the extras as well. If you need more, there’s a nice mix of live action and CG below for Hitman.

These guys are fresh out the gate and already displaying some versatility that most new companies ignore. They’ve got a new address down in SOHO and they’re here to take that pitch away from you.

THA_DON

sometimes i dont get motionographer.
this looks like student work at best.

stimmler

HUH?! student work?! r u crazy?! Anyone with a sound background knows that the two links show a great range of work and talent (and I love the Peter Max take on VGAs) Let’s not be threatened by the new guys. Keep up the good work!

boca

Sorry THA_DON, but I’m gonna have to agree with stimmler, that definitely doesn’t look like student work, and by the way, some student work rocks!
Anyways, loved the spots, specially the colour palette!
Good job guys, bookmarked!
Keep it up!
Cheers

THA_DON – “student work” is a little harsh. production quality is much higher than that, but otherwise, yeah i kinda agree. i felt like this was more of a “quickies” sidebar mention. i just don’t get motionographer sometimes.

pcdcucic

student work…? Overall production and quality have definitely exceeded up to par standards. I do get motiongrapher, they know how to shed some light on newfound talent. I am looking forward to the next alien invasion.

I love this piece :) .. I would like to do something like that :( … I have lot of ilustrations and I have de story boards to make a movie but is just I dont know how to make it move :(

lagraphite32

These are 2 awesome pieces that show an ability for varied styles from a company that seems to be up-and-coming. I look forward to seeing what else these guys have in their arsenal. Also, it’s unfortunate that some people (with terribly cliched usernames and no link to their own work) use this messageboard as a venue for trash talk rather than community spirit.

lagraphite32 – trash talk kinda like “terribly cliched usernames” ?

feedbag_Jenkinz

great work jerry

why do the haters never have reel postings in their profiles

tiekwan

So much player hating going on in motiongraphics. Yeah, you should only be able to hate on other people stuff if your name linked to a reel. Don’t hate what you can’t create.

zeniamai

Nice work especially if these guys just came out of the gate… It’s fun and you’d just have to agree that the color combination is just cool…

Give these guys a break they deserve to be praised. So much hating going on here…
