Sword-tip video camera

Sword+Duct tape+Camera=AWESOME. (Soon to be ripped off by a lazy art director?) [via kottke] (edit: apparently last year it was done with a baseball bat; thanks, commenter Carlos!)

I really like.

Some guys did something VERY similar with a Go Pro HD and a wiffle ball bat about a year ago:

AMAZING!

The video from Carlos comment its almost the same as this one post in motionographer. I hate when that happens… :(

Youre so funny! Ha ha
In the end we will end up out there with all kind of rip off works.
Look at this guy :

Reminds me of: “Even Better than the Real Thing” U2 video. That’s been a while, I’m old.

digitalout

Reminds me of this video which was created months ago by a British filmmakers.

Right! this one is really really good.

this one COULD be an original piece, but altogether it’s a shame. You can find a rip-off here nearly every two weeks. It’s a bit like hollywood, with the 7735394753th comic-adaption, remake and the 10th sequel of any halfway successful movie.
A lack of ideas.

Come one guys. The whole concept is just tying a camera to a stick and seeing what it looks like.

It’s really not that surprising that tons of people have done it before. It’s the sort of idea that’s so simple, it’s only natural that several people would independently attempt it.

It would be more surprising if this were the first time it had ever been done.

Sorry it was a bit unclear what I’m talkin about. This piece is most likely an original piece, which used accidentally the same idea. I was talkin about the general problem with all the rip-offs.

Strange how ready we are to call something ripp-off just because of similarity. How many times you saw something very close to your original idea which was not presented to public yet? It happend to me many times, I almost feel like I can’t come out with something unique. I even have exactly this idea of camera attached to the sword catched on one of my production sketches done way before I saw it here. Well, who can proove it now? Maybe some forensic detective from CSI :) It’s all about our mindset and the similar industry enviroment.

BlakeLandry

yes, I totally agree with you. Some times it’s hard to determine the mindset of the given artist. I guess we can only hope that we aren’t all just copying what those famous tutorial sites(we all know and love)….

holy moly, another cool one………………

xpez2000

Apparently, someone hasn’t seen any snowboarding or skiing dvds for the last five years…the cam on a ski pole or arm is a widely used technique.

1angryDwarf

I agree Xpez2000…. this initial post was a little useless, with a healthy serving of BEEN THERE DONE THAT.

oliversin

This was also done in the early 90s by an artist called Tony Hill

Here is the film info http://bit.ly/gKLVAI
A short clip here too (if it works) http://tinyurl.com/3y7qxcu
