Down The Rabbit Hole

Promoting a Dutch music festival this summer, “Down the Rabbit Hole” is a psychedelic odyssey that blends 2D and 3D techniques in a series of delightfully surprising moments.

The video’s art direction is strongly driven by the vision of Merijn Hos, whose portfolio bubbles with abstract, geometric work that feels vaguely retro without veering into nostalgia.

  • This is great, the bouncy material the ball lands on especially. The section you have highlighted above reminds me of parts of this we did a while back: http://atyp.co.uk/projects/xxdr-studio-project/
And I’m not suggesting it’s an influence by the way!

It would be nice to see a version without the typography for a purely illustrative journey.

  • Hi Justin,

thanks for sharing this. Came as a surprise to me to see it up here.
If you’re interested, this is the third year we made a trailer for the festival. It’s a really cool job as we get a lot of freedom working and experimenting together. Every year we try to top last years madness.

http://www.kersenpit.eu/Down-The-Rabbit-Hole-2015 was last years trailer, and
    http://www.kersenpit.eu/Down-The-Rabbit-Hole-2014 the one before that.

    Kind regards,
    Jurriaan

  • Excellent work Jurriaan! Must have been fun to work on this project, the use of colour and mixing of 2d and 3d is truly hypnotic. Keep it up, its super unique.
