Method Studios

method.jpg
Method Studios has updated with two recently completed spots for Miller Light and Toyota. Personally, I didn’t find the Miller spot’s concept to be too exciting, but Method delivered a superb interpretation—one of the reasons they will always be on my list. Similarly, the Toyota spot showed off some incredible technical expertise with a dash of cleverness to keep things interesting.

And in case haven’t already seen it, check out Method’s CG reel for a little more stimulation.

Broadcast Israel

bi.jpg
I always find it interesting to search for studios and production houses outside of the broadcast mecca — and sometimes a gem or two shows up. One of those gems are Broadcast Israel with over 15 years in the business has produced work ranging from CGI to heavy VFX of a high standard.

Barbara Di Pasquale

babara.jpg

I rarely note the name of the person doing the work — mostly because I am on the website for the work and not the trivial and sometime odd information that is delivered there.

But this time it struck me that Barbara is a female name, and then it got me thinking how rarely I encounter females in the industry, especially people like Barbara with 10 years of experience. But don’t think I posted this because of that. The simple fact that Barbara has a strong and colorful body of work of high quality broadcast work is reason enough for posting.

JL Design do Disney and more

jl2.jpg

Taiwan Studio JL Design recently finished a series of spots for Disney Channel Taiwan. While it’s not something that will blow you away if you are a regular on the this site, it does deliver the message in a good and colorful way. I’m also a sucker for Kim Possible and The Emperor’s New Groove.

I strongly recommend browsing around the site to check out the rest of the work. I hope to see more from Asia and around the world.

DEFASTEN – AEXEX

defasten.jpg
While browsing the link collection – I came to a long time favorite which I have not visited for quite some time – and to my pleasant surprise there was a solid update – and a rather interesting on of it’s kind – I will not try to reformulate what was well written so a quote is at it’s best:

“…This work falls under the clauses stipulated in the Creative Commons license. As outlined in the license, anyone is free to remix this work, provided they credit the author of the original source. Hence, because the work is made freely available, I have left the remixing possibilities to the potential artists and individual everyones who may intellectually benefit from the work within the sharing economy.”

The work is self it a good solid abstract approach which I rarly see being pulled off – except when Defasten has something to do with it.

Direct link to the piece.

And if you are in the mood I would recommend it in full screen.

RJD2 – Work it out Video

rjd2.jpg
wow – while this is not in the usual realm of motion design it does something that is even harder than full cg work – I won’t “bla bla” too much just see it and enjoy the new video created by RJD2, Bill Shannon and directed by Joey Garfield.

See the video and behind the screen footage at Spinner.
