Colorist needed in NYC (freelance)
at The Molecule in New York City
The Molecule www.themolecule.net is seeking a colorist for an experimental short documentary. Candidates should be local to the New York area and be able to work on software compatible with Final Cut. The colorist will be involved throughout the edit process and will help influence the direction of the piece. The entire post team will hold weekly meetings to share ideas and show work but this will not be a full-time gig.
The film is about Bill Laswell's new band Method of Defiance, featuring Bernie Worrell, Dr. Israel, DJ Krush and other amazing talents. We can take all manner of creative liberty -- and we're doing a hybrid, multi-genre piece with animation, documentary, music video and any possible manner of visual art.
Bill Laswell takes artists from vastly different genres, lets them loose, and sees what happens. He also samples work from other aritsts and re-purposes it to create a new style. We want to do the same with this film, by taking artists from different styles and great short films from different worlds to communicate the experimental spirit of the music.
Applicants should go to our Jobs page http://www.themolecule.net/?page=jobs and fill out our online form to submit reels.
