3D/2D Animator
at BARS + TONE in San Francisco
3D Animator:
Seeking an on-site, freelance motion graphics designer proficient in After Effects and 3D Studio Max to work on an ongoing series of mobile device product videos. Animation is predominantly object-oriented and involves no camera animation. Ideally this person
Experience with render farms (particularly in-house, using Qube software) is a plus.
3D Responsibilities include:
MUST work in 3D Studio Max with V-Ray (lighting/material knowledge is necessary for tweaks, but models will be provided)
Rendering out still images for model approval from client
Animating model and lights to a provided voiceover, working within strict constraints of established style guide
Prepping files for render farm
Submitting files to render farm and monitoring output
Rendering "fixes" - replacing image sequences in vray materials and rendering specific blocks of frames
2D Responsibilities include:
Motion tracking and/or rotoscoping outlines on top of 3D animation (calling out product features)
Animating mask shape
Rendering out animations (lossless with alpha channel to be layered in Final Cut Pro)
Creating basic title slates from a pre-existing template (loading in .eps files and changing type)
Note: This is a production position and requires little creative/design input, but requires strong technical ability and incredibly strict attention to detail.
