Technical Director / Lighting TD
at Buck Design Inc. in New York City
We are seeking a talented senior Lighting Technical Director for upcoming freelance work.
You must be proficient using Maya/Mental Ray and all appropriate associated rendering tools and plugin's related to producing high-end render solutions. Knowledge of other render software such Renderman is welcome.
You will be responsible for all aspects of lighting and rendering of the computer generated elements and scenes, ideally with a command to write your own bespoke shaders and lighting solutions to suit any project specific needs.
Render management is an essential part of your skill-set with the ability to strategically trouble shoot and optimize render solutions to ensure effective completion of render passes keeping the time to a minimum and quality of cutting edge standard. You will be able to meet the CG/VFX Supervisors and Creative Director's vision whether it be a highly stylized or extremely detailed photo-realistic project brief.
An ability to prep-comp (preparatory compositing) your work using After Effects or Shake is valued.
A senior level generalist knowledge of Maya/Mental Ray would also be highly valued.
