Motion/FX Designer
at The Onion in New York City
The Award-Winning Onion News Network (www.theonion.com) is looking for a talented Motion/VFX Designer to help us complete a sequence for a new segment called Future News.
Candidate must be willing to work for a flat rate. Our rates are relatively low but the exposure and attention will be extremely high.
This sequence is a series of live-action shots featuring protesters in a post-apocalyptic setting, where the “camera” must appear to hover as if floating and holographic signs must be input in background (replacing green swatches).
Shots must be composited in After Effects. Specific challenges will include the following:
1) Motion Tracking/Stabilizing live-action Footage – input 2.5D AE Camera Hover Effect with blurry elements in foreground layers to create illusion of depth/parallax.
2) All footage needs to be color treated (AE color correction).
3) Covering all composites, there should be a filter effect giving the entire piece a grimy feel (dirty/broken camera lens) and a slight fish-eye-lens effect warping the edges (simple stuff)
4) Integration of holo-screen vfx for signs. Green screen swatches have been replaced with plates by ONN. Images/designs for signs to be provided by ONN. *When finished shots have been approved, renders must be delivered as quicktime files, along with the After Effects Project Files and all accompanying elements.
Candidates must have online reel. Please answer this ad with the words: FUTURE NEWS: GAY MARRIAGE in the subject line.
