We are seeking candidates for the position of Writer/Producer – On Air (Marketing) in our Silver Spring MD office.

Position Summary:

An outstanding and experienced promo / ad director to produce commercials, on air promotions, branding and corporate video for a vast array of Discovery branded and non branded channels and clients across the world.

A strong ability and track record in writing coupled with a great visual eye and a flair for editing and design. Ideally the candidate will be a producer/editor (“predator”) with skills in either Final Cut or Avid. Exeperience of shooting and managing crews highly prefered.

They will work closely with other creatives to create 360 degree campaigns that are consistent across all media – so will know how an on-air idea can work in print, online or ambient.

Ability to inspire confidence and trust in clients is critical especially across mutiple cultures and they must thrive on being able to pitch and sell ideas and finished work. Needs a passion for creative and advertising with a knowledge of latest techniques, work and ideas.

Responsibilities:
1. Write, produce and direct promotions, ads and other video / branding for domestic and international clients.
2. Book, manage and direct location and studio shoots.
3. Partner with many clients in house and out – really understanding their business and marketing needs and, the needs of their region.
4. Have in-depth knowledge of on-air
5. Oversee and manage post production including graphics and audio sessions
6. Ability to present full 360 integrated campaigns with flair that garners buy-in from peers and nets measureable results.
7. Work to budgets and within tight deadlines.

Requirements:
( these are ‘musts’ for the role)

  • 5 – 10 years promo/on air or tv agency background.
  • Strong creative management experience – able to give clear and direct instruction and takes contructive criticsm well – knowing how to adapt projects to needs of clients.
  • Must be team player/leader and be able to supervise multiple people on multiple projects under tight deadline situations.
  • Seasoned at presenting with flair to clients and ability to sell in ideas with passion.
  • Shoot experince.
  • Final Cut and/or Avid self op highly prefered.
  • Must have the legal right to work in the United States
