The poster design and visual identity for the 2021 Golden Horse Film Festival has been revealed.
This is Bito as the visual coordinator for The Golden Horse Film Festival for the first time. Creative director Keng-Ming Liu led the Bito team with the design concept of “Re-focus, adjust the distance to the world”.
In this visual design, we broke through the previous design elements, designed three main visuals, and presented them with dynamic posters.
Bito uses bright and contrasting colors. In addition to classic white, it also adds high-chroma blue and yellow. The contemporary design style makes the vision more dynamic and elegant.
The visual theme of “Re-focus, adjust the distance to the world” is inspired by movie lenses. The advancing trajectory of the simulated single and continuous shots constituted the “Golden Horse Chinese characters”, the “Golden Horse trophy” and the “58th figure”. With partial blur and sharp changes, the dynamics of the lens focusing process are displayed, making them appear on paper like three-dimensional sculptures.
The backlight processing method symbolizes how many behind-the-scenes filmmakers have left the light and lens to the screen and the actors so as to pay tribute to all film crew.
The world is full of changes and challenges due to the epidemic. Bito believes that the pandemic not only changes our life, the distance between people but also the connection between people and movies.
We are like in a movie describing the common destiny of mankind, and the lens is still moving. Although the pandemic has forced us to refocus with the world, filmmakers and everyone have the opportunity to re-examine and calibrate the focus of our hearts.
