Interesting and fun but nothing new; ancient technique. We did all this stuff in the 60s and 70s using overhead projectors, clock crystals, mineral oil, and water or colored water. At rock concerts, this was known as a wet show.. And we weren’t the first. I’ve seen 16mm footage of the same refraction from early 1920s and they probably weren’t the first either.
