Helios Design Labs: New Site, New Work

Helios Design Labs recently relaunched their site with a fresh new look, an updated reel and some new work.

I’ve been fans of these guys for a long time, and it’s great to see them cranking out tasty new spots that show off their special blend of humor and clean graphics.

(“Mother, Please!” had me laughing out loud, by the way.)

I really dig their work, but their new site disappoints me. The old one had so much character. Sure it broke every now and then, but it was still great.

The flash streaming of their motion work is terrible too. Quicktimes dammit!

There’s “a link “View/Download Quicktime” under every project.

It’s unfortunate to see Helios with this new site. Ok it ‘does the job’ but there old site had personality and it still looked good today, this new site has none.

  • Mother Please! was great! I haven’t seen fireballs and laser beams used tastefully in a long time.

    I “lol’ed” as well.

  • Is it just me or is there something seriously wrong with the site? Everytime I go to check it out, I get deplorably long load times or it just doesn’t load.

  • Our ISP went Kaboom last night. They’ve promised to fix things by tonight. Murphy’s Law I guess.
