Enjoy a fascinating discussion about filmmaking and art in A Talk with Alfred Hitchcock (thanks Jimmy!). Brought to us by Luma, check out The Making of Standard Bank Global, from concept to execution. November 18, 2009
Also, dont miss out on his great list of stuff to live by. Shel Silverstein would be proud. London based director Scott Altman hits the ground running with a frenetic reel, and a slim but slick portfolio. As an extension of Asylum Visual Effects, Asylum Design is making its mark with three reels showcasing their work in main titles, screen design, and commercial productions. November 17, 2009

Eric Edwards directs Northwest Autos for Superfad
Superfad has just relaunched their site, and to make sure they start things off right, they’ve also posted a jaw-droppingly epic :60 Pioneer spot entitled “Enter.”
I’ve long been a fan of Superfad, so it’s very vindicating to take a spin through this updated portfolio full of solid work. The Pioneer spot alone should help edify their position as a premier motion house. It’s the kind of balls-to-the-wall virtuosic display of talent that encourages frame-by-frame review.
This post is kinda more of a super-Quickie. My friend Matt Ross sent me this making-of page for the Get the Glass online game I posted here some time ago. It’s always humbling to see non-digital processes playing such an important role in production. The design of the cards is amazing, too. So much attention to detail and wonderful typography.
Don’t miss the test animations waaaaaay down at the bottom of the page. And the light gray text between the images really helps build a sense of a time line.
The portfolio of Jorge Calleja, who put together the making of page, is definitely worth checking out. His work is an interesting blend of design, interaction and motion.
