National Television: Hyundai “Imagine”
I’m not sure how old this Hyundai spot is, but I just stumbled onto it yesterday. Agency Goodby, Silverstein & Partners worked with studio National Television to create an entertaining ride full of whimsical detail. Great character design and animation are strung together with simple but effective transitions that stay true to the “doodle” aesthetic driving the spot (no pun intended).
Credits, brief and downloadable QuickTimes can be found on National’s project page.

I love Nattl’s work, and this is another fine piece. I am very into this new school branding for cars. It’s not quite as good as the Coan and Zorn/Honda “Keep Doing//” spots, but then they are truly brilliant.
I am currently looking to find an interesting subject to write my dissertation on, and might look at modern branding in automobile ads. This way I get to look at good motion delve into the ideas & Concepts behind them.
if anyone has any interesting essay’s or blog posts about this subject, please send them on to matthew.kupon@gmail.com
