Mike Milyavsky: Cest La Vie

cestlavie

SVA student Mike Milyavsky envisioned a frenetic factory of unhappiness and conformity for his computer art thesis. The harsh vignetting, violent camera moves and mechanical textures all contribute to a feeling of claustrophobia and doom. It’s a fun ride, even if it is a a bit depressing.

(I love the robotic breastfeeding bit. Creepy and clever.)

This is the creepiest student piece I’ve see in a long time. Great job!

The overall concept doesn’t seem as tied together as it could be, mostly surreal images just jarred together. I feel like you could have done more with the title and theme. The elements have no lighting on them .. could add to a prettier design if it did.

Nice animation though. Good flow.
