The Dark Art of Pricing by Jessica Hische

Another great writeup from Jessica Hische, this one roughly detailing freelancers’ guidelines for pricing.  Although geared mainly toward those in the static arts, there are some seeds of motion content in the comments.

Very informative and eye opening. Although I don’t think quoting for motion works this way, I hope it will help a few raising their rates and stop working for so little money. Working for exposure isn’t what it used to be with so much content online. thanks Jessica.

It’s almost scary how accurate this article was. Good advice in there, thanks.

Such a great article.  I’m a motion artist but was recently contacted about an illustration job and had absolutely no idea how to price it.  This was very helpful, love her.
