Digital Design Days, the international festival recognized as a leading platform for digital creatives, will mark its 10th anniversary this year with two distinct editions in Palermo and Milan. The milestone moment not only reflects the event’s enduring influence in the design and technology sectors, but also introduces a strategic expansion into Southern Italy.
The celebrations begin with the debut of DDDx Palermo on June 27–28, a new regional iteration aimed at amplifying the creative landscape of central and southern Italy. Hosted at Cantieri Culturali della Zisa and produced in partnership with Palermo-based Studio 151, the event will feature a tightly curated selection of speakers, including some of the most prominent figures in contemporary digital design.
Among the confirmed speakers are David Carson, the pioneering graphic designer known for reshaping visual culture in the 1990s; Ash Thorp, a multidisciplinary artist renowned for his work in AI-generated visual storytelling; and experimental new media studios such as Ouchhh and Field, both known for their immersive and data-driven installations. Several Italian leaders in the field—AQuest, Monogrid, Ditroit, and others—will also take the stage, offering insights into the evolving intersections of design, technology, and culture.
The main event in Milan will follow from October 9–11, returning to the iconic Fabbrica del Vapore. There, Digital Design Days will host an anniversary edition featuring an expanded program of keynotes, workshops, and immersive experiences. The speaker lineup includes industry powerhouses such as Wesley ter Haar, co-founder of Media.Monks; Emily Rickard, CEO of creative juggernaut Buck; Simon Clowes, design lead at Apple; and representatives from prestigious design firms Pentagram and Future Deluxe.
Founder Filippo Spiezia, a designer and former creative director with experience in the U.S. and Italy, launched the event in 2016 with the vision of creating a global hub for digital innovation and human-centered design. Since then, Digital Design Days has hosted more than 14,000 attendees from over 120 countries and attracted more than 200,000 virtual participants. The event has been recognized by Google as “world-class” and awarded by Federcongressi as Italy’s most innovative format.
“In ten years, design has evolved far beyond the screen,” said Spiezia. “Our focus is now on the broader ethical, immersive, and technological challenges—and opportunities—facing creatives today. This anniversary is both a celebration and a call to shape what comes next.”
Digital Design Days 2025 promises to deliver a rich program that bridges inspiration and practical insight, from explorations of AI and spatial computing to hands-on sessions with industry leaders. Tickets for both events are now available, with early registration encouraged due to limited capacity.
