Digital Design Days turns 10 this May. And the opening titles say everything about this moment in our industry.
The Chase, created by London-based Fluent Studio and Creative Director Remy Williams, is built around a single question that is defining creativity right now: how do we face the future in the age of AI?
The answer depends entirely on where you are standing.
Fluent Studio interpreted that tension through the lens of a predator and its prey. The cheetah represents AI itself – beginning as something abstract, cloth-like, organic, then shifting from fabric to thread, thread to wire, wire dissolving into a rush of particles. Moving fast. Getting faster. Its form clarifying as it closes in.
The prey represents a mindset. The feeling, familiar to many of us right now, that something is gaining on us. Unseen. Accelerating. Inevitable.
But flip the perspective, and everything changes. The same force becomes a tool. Speed, transformation, hunger, clarity, in the hands of those who choose to become the hunter, it becomes an opportunity to pursue new ideas, new territory, new ways of making.
This is ultimately a poem about mindset. Fear versus courage. Prey versus predator. The transformation happening around all of us is the same. What changes is the side we choose to be on.
Nearly 100 names woven through the sequence. The global digital design community, named one by one, inside a film that asks each of them: which side are you on?
A full behind-the-scenes breakdown with Remy Williams is coming soon on Motionographer.
