Interesting talks with professionals, work showcases, and crisp-cold Spanish beers—one could say these are the three core tenets of Frames by Friends, the first community space for animators by animators based in Barcelona.
FBF was established in 2019 by three animator friends who recognized the need for a community-oriented space, where animators and creatives could connect, exchange insights, and engage beyond their posts, reels, and DMs. What began as casual meet-ups around the city has since grown into a cherished event series, formed by a team of five. FBF offers talks, hosted twice a year at BAU, one of Barcelona’s top design schools, as well as workshops, and activities for animators and creatives throughout the year.
This November the 13th Frames by Friends will host its 8th edition with an insight into de dynamics of successful creative duos in the animation industry. Mowe Studio, co-founded by Felippe Silveira and Raff Marques, along with the duo of Magoz and his 10-year collaborator Jose Lorenzo, will share insights on building and maintaining productive, long-term partnerships. The speakers will discuss the pathways to establishing effective remote routines and the complexities of deciding different career paths: founding a studio together or maintaining individuality while figuring out efficient collaborative workflows.
If you are in Barcelona, need a break from your busy schedule, and want to be inspired, don’t miss this amazing event!
