Golden Wolf & Phonat Launch ‘Take Your Medicine’ Hybrid Music Lab

Take Your Medicine, a new London-based creative music studio and label specializing in electronic and contemporary music, officially launches today. Founded by multi-award winning creative agency Golden Wolf and world-renowned electronic producer Phonat, the collective offers a unique approach that bridges the gap between commercial music and advertising.

What sets Take Your Medicine apart is their specialized expertise and commitment to hands-on collaboration. They do not rely on a shared roster of composers, ensuring clients work directly with the core team. The collective thrives by focusing predominantly on electronic and contemporary genres, drawing from Phonat’s extensive background collaborating with artists like Skrillex, Dizzee Rascal, Chase & Status, and Avicii. Skrillex himself has lauded Phonat as “easily the most underrated producer out there.”

Take Your Medicine has already built an impressive portfolio, quietly working with global brands including PepsiCo, Disney, Adidas, Samsung, Epic Games, TikTok, Hulu, Coca-Cola, and Subway. Their excellence in creative sound design was recognized with a Clio Award in 2024, underscoring their innovative approach and earning the trust of major clients across industries.

Take Your Medicine also played a pivotal role in shaping the sonic branding of next-generation art and entertainment company, Doodles. For their first short film, “Dullsville and the Doodleverse,” released in September 2024, Take Your Medicine was responsible for the score and sound design, complementing a star-studded, Pharrell Williams-produced soundtrack featuring Lil Wayne, Coi Leray, and Lil Yachty. The film’s recent release on YouTube has already garnered over 5.5 million views.

“We’re happily stuck in the gap between the commercial music world and advertising,” explains Michele Balduzzi, better known as Phonat, Creative Director of Take Your Medicine. “We’re making music that would appear on your Spotify playlist, or that you’d hear on the radio… music that you’d actively choose to listen to.”

As Take Your Medicine steps into the spotlight, their vision remains clear: “to create a new, hybrid music brand that blurs the lines between artist, collective, studio, and label,” says Simon Whitebury, Managing Director at Take Your Medicine. “The label gives us the creative freedom to stay on the pulse of current music and culture, feeding fresh ideas directly back into our client work.”

Their debut EP, ‘Nothing Is Imaginary’, is set to release this summer. Alongside their commercial work, they will be releasing regularly on their label, building out a boutique catalogue featuring both underground and established talent.
