For its 10° anniversary, Cognitiva Records commissioned this short movie entirely hand-drawn using the rotoscope frame by frame technique. For the movement, Retrogusto Creatives used the horizontal crab shot technique, which gradually reveals a world, a narrative blending reality, abstraction, and surrealism. An open container filled with references, elements from the past, objects, and visual representations ranging from musical gear, synthesizers, from underground music movements to contemporary art, graphic design, abstract furniture, and retro design objects, telling an inner story.
They used Adobe Animate for the scene design and traditional animation for some sections, and Adobe After Effects for the camera movement. The final export was handled by Adobe Premiere. An Ordinary Day was designed in multiple versions: a full 4:3 movie, a vertical reel, and a carousel version for social media.
