Motionographer® Death Howl – Launch Trailer

Death Howl is a genre-blending title published by 11 Bit Studios – the acclaimed creators of Frostpunk, The Alters, and This War of Mine. Set in a haunting, pixel-art world, the game stands out for its distinctive visual identity and atmospheric storytelling. BluBlu Studios was commissioned to co-create the official launch trailer, translating the game’s lore and emotional weight into a more cinematic animated form, while staying deeply rooted in the original universe.

The trailer was developed in close partnership with BluBlu’s long-time collaborators at Airplan Studio, who reimagined Ro’s journey through expressive 2D animation, giving the story a new visual rhythm without losing its raw, intimate tone.

Crafting the trailer required a deep immersion in Death Howl’s visual language and mood. Working hand in hand with the game director and the team at 11 Bit Studios, BluBlu ensured the final piece felt both bold and inseparable from the game’s world – an extension of its atmosphere rather than a standalone reinterpretation.

In addition to the trailer, the collaboration also included the development of the game’s key art, used both as the trailer cover and as the main visual for the Death Howl Deluxe Edition, helping extend the game’s visual identity across platforms.
