FPA Studio – Jie Liou | A Trail to Zero

Jie Liou’s A Trail to Zero uses 3D animation and minimalist design to visualize the science behind material transformation. It explores four processes: Recycled Nylon (from ocean waste), Bioplastics (plant- and microorganism-based), rCF (recycled carbon fiber), and rEVA (renewed foam)—depicted through abstract visuals and microscopic detail. Light-soaked palettes and precise close-ups reveal enzymes breaking down plastics, fibers merging, and atoms restructuring, grounding innovation in reality. From ocean to factory, waste transforms: nets become nylon, organic matter crystallizes into bioplastics, scrap evolves into aerospace-grade rCF, and discarded EVA gains new purpose. The FPA Studio film’s aesthetic—soft blues, earthy greens, and metallic neutrals—mirrors nature’s harmony, while sweeping shots of regenerative systems contrast with hyper-detailed microbial activity. This is not futurism but a quiet revolution, proving rigidity can adapt and waste holds latent value.A Trail to Zero symbolizes Giant Group Cycling’s promise to the future, echoing its commitment to reducing each bicycle’s carbon footprint by 40 kilograms by 2030.
