Jungler – Lavency Renaud | The Association for the Social and Professional Integration of People with Disabilities
The film features Emma, a young woman suffering from a physical disability, facing and fighting the looks of her co-workers.
They get in the way, they spy, they annoy, they judge. The way others look at people with disabilities should never be another handicap in business. However, 61% of employees find it difficult to integrate a person with a disability. It’s time for that to change.
It is these heavy and insistent looks that are at the centre of this campaign for L’ADAPT (The Association for the Social and Professional Integration of People with Disabilities) on the occasion of the European Week for the Employment of People with Disabilities.
The challenge the agency faced in this campaign was representing disability. The style of animation was chosen to create a more poetic treatment of disabilities, introducing a dreamlike world that takes us out of Emma’s harsh reality and highlights her daily struggles against the judgment of her coworkers.
In the campaign, Emma has congenital transverse agenesis, meaning she was born without her left arm. The animation team had to adapt Emma’s actions to someone who can only use her right hand: holding a piece of paper, using a printer, shaking hands, and so on. For each of these actions, Jungler worked closely with L’ADAPT and BETC, who advised us on the realities of living with a disability.
Thanks to this teamwork, we were able to produce a campaign where the reality of disability is thoughtfully represented, while addressing the main subject: the fight against discrimination
