In honor of this milestone, Murakami’s short film, ‘Superflat First Love’, originally created to promote the collaboration in 2009, has been remastered. This kaleidoscopic journey into a world of digital artistry and fantasy mirrors the essence of the re-edition collection. The animation follows a young heroine as she encounters a panda, a playful yet enigmatic mascot that becomes a portal to a fantastical digital universe. Through a chequerboard LED vortex, she ventures into spherical chambers adorned with Murakami’s signature flower and Louis Vuitton monogram patterns. These interconnected spaces challenge the boundaries between reality and hyperreality.
