What does graphic design represent for each of us? To me it is like a game. A puzzle game where you try different approaches until you get a fulfilling result. You have rules and a limited set of tools but have different ways of using them.
This project is about how fun and fascinating Motion Design is to me. A film about a toy that plays with the line between 3D and 2D, resulting in a multitude of ways to play with shapes. I’m very fond of geometric shapes. The order and harmony of these shapes are pleasing to the eye in a world of imperfection and chaos. It make the designs rather accurate concise. Something powerful but yet so simple. The wooden toy from the Japanese Game “Daruma” was a perfect subject for his cylindrical and colorful aspect with a touch of personification with his comical face.My primary objective was to get acquainted with Cinema 4D, tackling the 3D world with a tool that I have never used. Since the concept was about the fun I find in graphic design, I mostly focus myself on compositions, layouts and less on complex animation or simulation, while learning and experimenting with new things.
