“Feary Tales” is a cheeky thriller that reimagines the Brazilian women’s national football team as the heroines of a spine-tingling folk-horror story. Created in a mock stop-motion CG style, the film celebrates Brazil’s qualification for the final of the CONMEBOL Women’s Copa América, featuring players Kerolin, Angelina, and Gio. Directed by Faga Melo and Gustavo Leal at Dirty Work, the piece was crafted for Nike through Wieden+Kennedy São Paulo as a bold and unconventional tribute to the strength and spirit of women’s football. Visually and narratively, the short draws inspiration from 80s and 90s horror films, combining classic suspense with a playful twist. The biting humor embedded in the character design helped shape what the creators call a “cheeky thriller”, a tone that balances tension, irreverence, and fun in equal measure.
