Ponies | Imaginary Forces

Main Title for Peacock

Ponies explores a world defined by contradiction—where glossy surfaces mask systems of control, and cultural identity is shaped by both desire and secrecy. Through a single, continuous camera descent into hidden compartments, redacted documents, and everyday objects, the sequence visualizes the collision of Western consumerism and Soviet-era espionage, setting the tone for the series.

What Imaginary Forces Did

Imaginary Forces crafted a visually packed, one-shot experience that distills the show’s core thematic tension into a cohesive visual language. The creative challenge was to express the ideological clash between pervasive Western consumer culture and the rigid, secretive world of Soviet tradecraft while maintaining clarity, momentum, and atmosphere within a tight runtime.

Drawing from Cold War iconography, period consumer advertising, and archival espionage materials, the sequence incorporates client-provided props and production design assets to anchor the visuals in the show’s world while reinforcing a bold, cohesive branded identity.
