The Claudia Winkleman Show | Jump

The design agency Jump has teamed up again with So Television to create the titles for their new BBC chat show The Claudia Winkleman Show.

Harry Handyside – Art Director at Jump:

“In our early conversations with the producers, the show’s world was described as something closer to a late-night piano bar or jazz lounge than a traditional chat show. With the theme being composed by Ezra Collective, the brief naturally pushed us toward visual languages that felt rhythmic, musical and expressive.

Early inspiration came from classic title sequence design, particularly the work of Saul Bass, with references like Dr. No and Catch Me If You Can. We liked their ability to convey character and energy through simple, abstract forms rather than literal imagery.

The concept we developed was called Circles of Conversation. Rather than depicting Claudia or the guests directly, we represented everyone in the show as simple dots. Claudia appears as a bright, energetic circle that brings the show to life, introducing other coloured circles that represent guests. Around them sit the audience, rendered in deeper background tones.

The animation plays with the relationships between these elements, abstract gestures that loosely mirror the rhythm of conversation. The aim was to evoke storytelling, interaction and audience energy without ever becoming literal. It keeps the sequence graphic and musical, allowing the movement to respond naturally to the jazz score.

We created a distinctive typographic hierarchy for the logo, where the words THE SHOW take centre stage, while CLAUDIA WINKLEMAN sits deliberately modestly within the composition. The overall result is a playful, abstract title sequence that sets the tone for a warm, sophisticated conversation space.”
