THE LINE – Antoine Perez & Sam Taylor | Here, Tomorrow – Riot Games’ Spirit Blossom Beyond

London animation studio THE LINE partnered with Riot Games to create Here, Tomorrow, a three-minute animated music video for League of Legends’ Spirit Blossom Beyond season 2.Directed by Antoine Perez & Sam Taylor, the film delves into themes of legacy, family, and the collision of mortal and spiritual realms. Set in Ionia, the video juxtaposes two worlds: the spirit realm, rendered in hyper-saturated colors and pulsating textures, and the physical world, grounded in earthy tones, ancient forests, and lantern-lit traditions.Drawing inspiration from Japanese woodblock prints, the studio reimagined mythic sequences with fluid, storybook-like motion for Ashe’s journey and textured, light-driven animation for Lux’s arc.Taylor described the project as a balance of cultural homage and innovation, aiming to evoke “older, stranger magic” within Ionia’s landscapes. The collaboration highlights animation’s evolving role in gaming narratives, blending cinematic artistry with Riot’s iconic universe.
