Trollback’s Joe Wright for Infiniti

swell.jpg

Director Joe Wright of Tröllback + Co. recently finished “Swell,” a gorgeous water-themed spot for Infiniti. Like the rest of Joe’s work, “Swell” is dead sexy. I’m not a big fan of the strange water-ghosting effect at 00:24, but the rest of the spot flows flawlessly.

Jakob Tröllback, by the way, will be speaking at Inspire 07 on February 16th here in Savannah.

So you guys like that effect? (I’m talking about the part where the entire body of the car is ghosted in water.)

I don’t really like it. Seems forced. Awkward.

/\ Not so much the concept but I do like the look of it.

Supernova

Justin, i agree that this effect is overdone. Not only in previous infiniti spots but in other car-commercials from other brands.

Though I like the idea to recycle old paper, plastic bottle, and glass I feel that the concept of recycling doesn’t work so well in our field. Come on, how many car/shampoo commercials have been done using water?
