Street Fighter 4 Trailer

Very cool trailer for the new installment of Street Fighter…Ken and Ryu must be 50 by now. Just when you think ink can never be interesting again, this trailer integrates it with the 3d action in several different to tie the spot together. The ink is used as the basic environment, as vehicles to illustrate motion and collision as well as the more traditional graphic splashes (like the birds eye shot of Ken kicking Ryu and the crescent splash of ink forms behind him..wonderful). I’m not sure who did this, but it would be great to find out.

CPLUV seems to think it was created by a guy named Atsushi Inaba. Here’s the link to their article: –>click<–

I liked it (especially Ryu charging that fireball) but maybe thats because it brought back memories of hours spent playing sf2… HOUDOKEN!

A gorgeous looking piece. A little like some of psyop’s from a couple of years ago…

that last shot is fucking killer… but I doubt anything will ever top MvC2 ;)

I agree with rothermel, the watercolor texture and paint splashes// drips look is outdated.

Then souldn’t the wheel be outdated at this point too? And what about color black? Its been done before, nobody should ever use it again.

I gotta agree with franco. It’s gritty and stylistic. It makes fighting seem dirty, frantic and exciting. Just because Psyop utilized a similar style doesn’t mean that it’s off limits now.

The execution of the technique still creates something origional.
