Created by Lunar BBDO with illustrations for Billie Jean, this commercial for Samaritans is a poignant use of hybrid animation techniques. The soundtrack is Sufjan Stevens’ “Redford” from Greetings from Michigan.

I doubt this was pro bono. The Samaritans like most charities have some budget for advertising, although not that of profit making companies. I think the animation was done by Therapy Films… I love this commercial to bits. Exactly my sort of thing. Tons of feel expression and innovation.

there was another 2 animators called elroy and kevin. for some reason they never got credited. kev did most of the cell animation.
