Death is inevitable in Bungie’s bold reimagining of Marathon, the studio’s first new project since Destiny. The legendary creators of Halo and Destiny have transformed their 1994 cult classic into a cutting-edge team-based extraction shooter, set to launch September 23, 2025. Set on the abandoned colony world of Tau Ceti IV, players will choose their cybernetic Runner and battle rival teams to scavenge alien artifacts, power, and answers to the planet’s dark secrets. Spanish auteur Alberto Mielgo (Spider-Verse, Oscar-winning The Windshield Wiper) brings his signature hyper-stylized visuals to the project, with painterly sci-fi aesthetics elevating the tactical PvP combat. Featuring voice talent including Erica Lindbeck (Glitch) and Elias Toufexis (Void), Marathon promises to blend Bungie’s signature gunplay with Mielgo’s dystopian storytelling flair.
