Panic Live – Roberts Kulenko | Live Life in the Green
Animation studio Panic got energized for Healtheries, New Zealand’s most trusted vitamins and supplements brand, keeping Kiwis healthy for over 110 years. Joining forces with the award-winning team at TBWA\New Zealand, they aimed for that extra bounce you get when you have enough goodness in your system.
The video illustrates Healtheries’ feel-good philosophy – “Live Life in the Green.” Focusing on joy and liveliness, it challenges traditional health narratives, often concentrated on ailments, and stands out in the supplement market with a refreshing perspective on wellness.
Make it Kiwi. The green and vibrant color palette, set against a Wellington-like backdrop, is sprinkled with touches of New Zealand artwork, interiors, accessories (and even sheep) as the groovin’ pace, rhythmic match cuts, and smiling faces bring a modern Kiwi’s typical day to life. This atmosphere is further charmed by a character crew with exaggerated proportions like long legs, low camera angles, and even more Kiwi traits.
The main character, Riley, confidently heads to work sporting a smart-casual gender-neutral look curated by the “outfit police.” Their journey is a cinematic adventure accentuating how contagiously cheerful energy can impact everyone and everything, from chummy commuters and colleagues to personified lampposts, cars, and even the sun. Harmonious to the tempo, each element comes alive in a playful, synchronized dance of positivity.
“Riley’s journey grooves to the music. Every step is timed to the rhythm, dictating how expansive each environment can be. By aligning Riley’s pace with other characters, background elements, scene transitions, and match cuts, we gave the clip a cinematic look. We then chose flat lighting with some contour effects to integrate a 3D object into the 2D world and ensure a smooth blend with the 2D illustrations,” adds project Creative Lead and Art Director Gints Gutmanis.
