Eastend Western – Jack Cunningham & Nicolas Ménard | TRIPLE BILL

Eastend Western‘s Directors Jack Cunningham and Nicolas Ménard have unleashed TRIPLE BILL—a whimsical, three-film anthology that bends stop-motion into a high-wire act of artistry. Clocking in under two minutes each, these quirky mini-epics span genres to jab at tech’s grip on modern life.

First up: BLUE GOOSE, a slapstick Western where a hulking cowboy statue ditches his gas station perch to stomp across a meta-commentary on social media chaos. Just to make him waddle? Eight bespoke 3D-printed models. Because why do anything halfway?Enter replacement animation—the OG and obsessive cousin of stop-motion. Forget subtle tweaks: Each flicker of movement demands a fresh figure, a throwback to George Pal’s 1930s wizardry, but with a modern twist (hello, 3D printers!). CLUB ROW whirls viewers down a noirish staircase of data paranoia, while MYTHACRYLATE plunges into a psychedelic duel with… ourselves.Behind the scenes? A ballet of sawdust and precision: Every tiny figure sliced, sanded, and hand-painted before being pinned into scenes like museum dioramas gone rogue. Tech may be the villain, but craft? That’s the hero.
