Although he’s from Brazil, Gabriel Souza (a.k.a Gareso) is earning his Diploma of Motion Graphics and Visual Effects halfway around the world in Auckland, New Zealand at the Media Design School.

“Birds,” a self-initiated spec ID for MTV, combines vivid palettes (hey, he’s Brazilian), lively character animation and inventive sound design (which he created himself) in a miniature narrative that’s a joy to watch again and again.
